1. Background - Patients diagnosed with CRPS experience a diverse set of symptoms in the upper limb. Many treatment modalities are employed to treat this particular treatment group (Harden et al, 2013, Perez et al 2010, Ramsay 2008) however there is little research in the patient's perspective of common treatment modalities in this population. This research paper attempts to identify what treatment modalities patients find most useful in reducing their pain and oedema. At this stage, there is no standardised instrument to measure patient's perspective of treatment modalities in the treatment of CRPS hence a specific tool was created for this study.

2. Aims - The aim of the study is to determine what treatment modalities used by hand therapy clinicians to treat patients with a diagnosis of CRPS are viewed to be the most effective by patient to reduce their pain and oedema.

3. Method - The study is a prospectove single cohort study that uses a quantitative and qualitative survey administered at the 8 week, 6 month and 12 month point following their initial diagnosis of CRPS from a qualified medical practitioner. Participants are individuals who have been diagnosed with CRPS by a medical practitioner and are being treated by a hand therapist across Australia

Results - This paper will discuss preliminary results from the initial stages of the study.
