Concurrent Workshop 4e: Assessment of Hand Function After Peripheral Nerve Injury (Rosen’s Method) — YRD
Workshops
4:30PM - 5:30PM
Grand Ballroom West
Chair: Emma Mill

Presenter: Emma Mill

This workshop on assessment of hand function after peripheral nerve injury using the Model Instrument for Documentation of Outcome after Peripheral Nerve Repair by B.Rosen will include a demonstration of the method, with specific assessments shown for the three domains: Sensory, Motor and Pain/Discomfort. Many commonly used assessment tools are incorporated into the method. Specific, and where applicable, standardized methods of administration of all tests will be demonstrated. The technique of scoring and calculating the results will be taught. The method provides measurable outcomes over a long recovery after peripheral nerve injury and repair, with numerical and visual (graph) feedback for patients, therapists and surgeons. Participants will receive the necessary paperwork and instructions on how to implement this technique in their hand therapy clinic.
